Mr Wright is currently CIMIC Group Mining and Mineral Processing Executive and Thiess Managing Director.

“Most recently, he successfully built on our company’s competitive strength in the resources sector, expanding and diversifying our mining operations into new commodities and geographies.

Mr Wright’s appointment is effective immediately.
Michael Wright, a civil engineer, is CIMIC Group’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer. He was formerly CIMIC Group Mining and Mineral Processing Executive, responsible for leading Thiess (as Managing Director) and Sedgman. Prior to that, Mr Wright held roles managing construction, tunnelling and services teams, and executive roles including leading Thiess’ Australian Mining operations, Thiess’ Services business and CIMIC Group’s China and Mongolia business. Mr Wright joined CIMIC Group in 1998.
